Wael Kanaan was born in Germany in 1978 and finished high school in Saudi Arabia before graduating as a dentist from Aleppo University in 2000. He went on to earn his orthodontics certificate from Saint Louis University in 2005, followed by a one-year fellowship with the Cleft Lip and Palate team at the Saint Louis Children’s Hospital.
Since 2006, he has been working as an orthodontist in private practice in Houston, Texas. He is also a partner in a dental manufacturing company, where he leads clinical research and development.
Wael has a deep passion for Syria and a strong belief in the potential of its people. He sees Syrians as intelligent, capable, and hardworking—and is committed to doing his part to help rebuild a strong, proud, and prosperous Syria.
