Board Certified Cardiologist
Capital Health, Columbus, New Jersey USA Dr. Rim Al-Bezem is board certified in cardiovascular computed tomography, nuclear cardiology, adult transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, cardiovascular disease, and internal medicine. She completed her internship, residency, and fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at SUNY Health Science Center in Brooklyn, NY, where she also served as chief medical resident and chief cardiology fellow. Dr. Al-Bezem earned her medical degree from Damascus University in Syria, graduating first in her class. With nearly 20 years of experience in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular conditions, Dr. Al-Bezem co-founded a women’s heart health initiative at a large cardiology practice in Mercer County, New Jersey, before joining Capital Health. She is a member of the American College of Cardiology. In 2014, Dr. Al-Bezem founded the Eastern Pennsylvania chapter of the Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS) and served as its first president. She co-chaired the inaugural American Forum on Syria Policy in 2017, fostering discussions on U.S. policy towards Syria. She also founded Kayla’s List PAC, promoting humanitarian values in policymaking. Additionally, Dr. Al-Bezem co-founded Citizens for a Secure and Safe America (C4SSA) and the Syrian American Alliance for Peace and Prosperity (SAAPP), where she serves on the executive board. She worked with the Trump administration to protect civilians in Idlib and helped pass the Caesar Bill. Her advocacy efforts have been highlighted on CNN and in The Wall Street Journal.
