Practicing Physician at Norton Healthcare System
Dr. Ammar Al Jajeh was born and raised in a small town in Hama, central Syria, amidst the horrors of the 1982 Hama Massacre. As Assad’s forces destroyed entire neighborhoods and took the lives of tens of thousands of civilians—including several members of his own family—and repeatedly endangered his father’s life, these early experiences became the foundation of his unwavering commitment to justice, human dignity, and freedom.
This deep-rooted passion has fueled Dr. Al Jajeh’s lifelong advocacy for civil and human rights. He has played an active and influential role in Kayla’s List PAC, contributing to the advancement of local and national policies that promote safety, accountability, and the protection of civilians. His work with the PAC helped influence key legislation aimed at holding war criminals accountable.
Professionally, Dr. Al Jajeh is a practicing physician at Norton Healthcare System, the second-largest employer in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. His medical education and training span three respected institutions: Aleppo University, Michigan State University, and Sparrow Hospital. In addition to his clinical work, he served as Chair of the Ethics Committee at Norton, where he applied his commitment to ethical standards in patient care and institutional decision-making.
Beyond his professional and advocacy endeavors, Dr. Al Jajeh finds joy in exploring the world with his wife—a Syrian-American entrepreneur with Palestinian roots— and 2 children sharing a passion for global engagement and cultural understanding.
